Chezzi Denyer
INTRODUCING
Chezzi Denyer
Cheryl Denyer, widely known by her nickname Chezzi, has built a multifaceted career across media, television, and radio. Growing up, Cheryl wasn’t fond of her name, feeling it was too common. It wasn’t until her time working at Sunrise that her nickname Chezzi was coined by a producer, and it stuck ever since. Today, Chezzi lives on a 27-acre farm outside Bathurst, NSW, with her husband, Grant, and their two daughters, Sailor and Scout.
Chezzi’s professional journey began at 15 when she worked at a local radio station. She later transitioned to television, where she spent years at Sunrise, quickly rising through the ranks to become a producer. During her time there, she played an integral role in engaging with viewers through the show’s Soapbox segment and coordinating fan events. Her work highlighted the impact television can have, providing comfort and connection to viewers, particularly those facing challenging times.
In addition to her media career, Chezzi has worked in a variety of fields, from politics at NSW Parliament to retail and even as a national park ranger. Now, as a freelance producer and mother of two, she balances life on the farm with raising her children while her husband is often on the road. Her story is one of versatility, adaptability, and an ever-present sense of adventure.
